While we can’t always control what happens in the world, we can choose how we care for ourselves each day.
Life has a way of bringing both beauty and heartbreak, sometimes all at once. In difficult times, it’s natural to feel the weight of stress and grief…emotions that don’t just live in our hearts, but often show up in our bodies as well! One of the most common ways our bodies respond to prolonged stress is through changes in our hair, like shedding or thinning. Hair is deeply connected to our overall well-being, so taking care of both our inner and outer selves becomes even more important when life feels heavy.
While we can’t always control what happens in the world, we can choose how we care for ourselves each day. Finding glimpses of joy and small moments of sunshine can make a big difference. For me, that looks like baking something sweet in my kitchen, filling my home with fresh flowers every Friday, and sitting down for coffee dates with a dear friend. These rituals remind me that even in seasons of sadness, there is beauty to be found.
Stress and grief may take their toll, but giving ourselves permission to pause, breathe, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures can support not only our emotional health but also our physical well-being…including the health of our hair. Joy is nourishment, too.
So as you move through your days, I encourage you to seek out your own sunshine. Maybe it’s a walk outside, a phone call with a friend, or a favorite hobby that brings peace. These small acts of joy are more powerful than we realize. They help us heal, grow, and shine from the inside out.
Let us not forget that JOY is nourishment, too!
